Haiti Reaches ‘A Sub-Level Of Rock Bottom,’ Sparking Fears of Famine

A woman by her tent at the St Vincent school turned displacement site in downtown Port au Prince on February 20, 2024, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The site is now home to some 1800 displaced people. There has a been fresh wave of violence in Port-au-Prince where, according to UN estimates, gangs control 80% of the city.

But faith remains alive in the Caribbean nation, despite what residents and charity leaders say are the worst conditions the long-troubled country has ever experienced.
