Sept. 21 memorial service to mark 200 days of war in Ukraine

An ecumenical Panakhyda (Service for the Deceased) to pray for the victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine wlll be held Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 at 7 p.m. in the Crypt Church at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.


The service, marking 200 days since the war in Ukraine began, will be led by Washington Cardinal Wilton Gregory, the archbishop of Washington, and Archbishop Borys Gudziak, metropolitan-archbishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia.


Today, the country and its people need moral and material support. Those who have perished deserve our respect and commemoration.


The event is open to the public.
