The Central Minnesota Catholic names new editor

Kristi Anderson, a former associate editor of The Central Minnesota Catholic, was named the new editor of the magazine, effective April 17. In this role, she oversees The Central Minnesota Catholic’s print and digital media, including its weekly e-newsletter.

Kristi Anderson

A 2014 alum of the Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary with a master’s degree in pastoral ministry, Anderson has won numerous awards from the Catholic Media Association for her writing and editing. In 2022, she won first place from the association as “Writer of the Year.”

Anderson worked as a multimedia journalist with the diocesan newspaper, The Visitor, from 2015 to 2019 — the year the newspaper changed its format to a monthly magazine. From July 2019 to April 2022, she was the magazine’s associate editor. Anderson also currently serves as chair of the Diocesan Eucharistic Revival Team.

In her new position, she replaces editor Joe Towalski, who was named the Diocese of St. Cloud’s chancellor and chief of staff March 1. He continues in his role as communications director.
